Cook's sidekick, played by Dan Fogler, is extremely annoying and ruins the momentum of the movie on more than one occasion.Summary: It all started when Charlie Logan was 10 years old. Together they have a alright chemistry but the movie is so typical it takes away from the overall experience. Hearing of Charlies reputation as a good-luck charm, women from all over line up for a quick tryst. Even worse, he learns that each of his ex-girlfriends finds true love with the man she meets after her relationship with him ends. Cook doesn't evolve much from 'Employee of the Month' here but he is enjoyable. Cursed since childhood, dentist Charlie Logan cannot find the right woman.
However, be warned if you're trying to make this a date movie and know there are some very crude parts to this movie. 'Chuck' comes well stocked with lots of naked girls and breast jokes. Expect lots of nudity from everyone including Cook but not Alba. However, this is also one of those movies where most of the best punchlines are in the trailer which is disappointing.
Cook and Alba do good jobs with a paper-thin script and add some great moments with the physical humor such as the flying dental tools and jump starting Dane Cook as seen in the trailer. Keep your expectations low and you'll enjoy 'Good Luck Chuck.' Overall, the movie is generic and predictable. Anisha ends up helping him in a way he doesn't expect. To get to true happiness, Charlie feels he needs to speak to Anisha Carpenter, who he feels is the cause of his current problems. Cam's true love seems destined to be penguin expert Howard Blaine. Charlie in turn doesn't want to sleep with Cam as he is certain she will find her true love after they do.
Cam initially doesn't want to date Charlie because of his reputation as a one-night stand type of guy. He believes the woman of his dreams is accident-prone Cam Wexler, who works as the penguin caretaker at the aquarium. Charlie doesn't want to be solely a stepping stone for women, which is how they end up treating him once he gains this reputation as a lucky charm, but rather one's true love. Stu Klaminsky, a sex obsessed, sex starved schlub who became a plastic surgeon just so that he could masturbate over the sight of women's breasts. He is encouraged to exploit this reputation by his long time best friend, Dr. Every woman he has slept with has met and married her dream man immediately following. After an announcement by one of his ex-girlfriends as such at her wedding, Charlie gets a reputation as being a good luck charm. Charlie Logan has never experienced true love, despite having had a number of girlfriends over the years.
